About Vence, France – Your Dream Self-Catering Villa Destination

The town of Vence

Situated in the hills above Nice, Vence is a quaint, traditional French town around 20 miles from the nearest airport. With Nice and Cannes in easy reach, and hill-top villages just a short stroll away, the area is perfect for those who want to enjoy everything that the glittering French Riviera has to offer.

Things to do

Vence is a floristry hotspot – there are small flower markets held several times a week in the charming town square, and traders and merchants come from miles around to sample the beautiful blooms. When the night falls, the square is used for classical and jazz concerts, so visitors can kick back with a bottle of French wine and listen to some of the local musicians work their magic.

The old town itself is fully pedestrianized – a maze of narrow streets bustling with artisan shops, quaint cafes, wine bars and restaurants serving local delicacies. Tourists can wander around the local boutiques and traditional establishments all day long.

There are art galleries and museums just a short drive away, and several golf courses and tennis courts in the vicinity of the luxurious French villa, for those who like to keep active on holiday. The villa itself also has a swimming pool, so those who feel regret indulging in that extra portion of brie, or that additional glass of wine, can assuage their guilty feelings with a few lengths!

There are two large supermarkets in Vence and the surrounding villages, so those who like their home comforts and want to take advantage of the self-catering aspect of the villa can stock up on a delightful mix of local cuisine and more standard fare.
